This small rosulate plant will easily make a 3-5 cm high carpet when the light is sufficient and the substrate layer nutritious. Even at an intense light level this variety remains fresh green unlike the usual, more reddish, Helanthium tenellum (previously named Echinodorus tenellus). Unlike the regular Helanthium tenellum ‘Green’, ‘Micro’ stays incredibly compact and far shorter.
