Echinodorus Martii (sometimes known as Echinodorus Major) is another extremely rare aquarium plant in New Zealand. Extremely difficult to come across and often identified incorrectly by hobbyists. This Echinodorus specieis is an extremely easy plant to grow and is great for beginners.
A medium sized aquatic plant with light green leaves, this plant is a heavy root feeder and will benefit from a nutrient rich substrate along with the use of root tabs. Co2 injection is not required but will definitely improve its overall health and growth form.
Like all Echinodorus, it can grow to a decent size, to keep its size in control, please ensure that leaves are trimmed ocassionally. In a well lit aquarium this plant may start to develop orange and red hues, capable of turning into a centre piece and will look truly fabulous.
The maximum possible height for this plant is roughly 60cm however, 30cm is the norm.
